US Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV) has lit a firecracker below the 13 main US sports activities leagues and the NCAA by sending all of them letters demanding they share what sports activities betting insurance policies they’ve in place.
Within the face of current gambling-related controversies, Congresswoman Titus has taken the ethical excessive floor, saying the essence of being a sports activities fan is figuring out “the video games you watch are honest.”
Titus took to Twitter to reiterate her message to the US sports activities our bodies and supported it with a KSNV information clip:
Titus, whose representational remit consists of the Las Vegas Strip, needs the sports activities our bodies to reply to her calls for by July 15. She needs the 14 our bodies to submit clearly outlined sports activities betting and playing insurance policies for his or her athletes and staff, in addition to reply questions on playing schooling programmes, monitoring and investigation.
Stopping suspicious bets earlier than they get positioned
Titus mentioned sportsbooks and “progressive integrity monitoring corporations” may alert the leagues and playing regulators of shady betting exercise, with the aim of stopping suspicious bets earlier than they get positioned.
“When gamers get suspended, and coaches get fired, which means the system is working,” Titus added, little doubt in reference to Detroit Lions’ Jameson Williams, who the NFL hit with 6-game high quality final in April just for the vast receiver to disclose final month he “wasn’t conscious” the league had a sports activities betting coverage.
